The best part of underwater photography is never knowing exactly what will appear next.
A reef that seems quiet at first can reveal an extraordinary amount of life once you slow down and start looking properly. Some subjects announce themselves from a distance. Others are only a few millimetres long and disappear into the background until a movement, colour or shape gives them away.
LIGHTMAGIC is a photographic record of those encounters: nudibranchs, reef fish, crustaceans, sharks, rays and whatever else happened to cross my path underwater.
I am especially fascinated by the small and strange. Nudibranchs are a recurring obsession, not only because of their colours and forms, but because finding and photographing them turns an ordinary patch of reef into a treasure hunt.
Browse the nudibranch photography or follow the photographs back to the destinations where they were made.
